New Year Resolutions
Here we are in the dawning of a new decade, 2009 is gone and we welcome 2010. Every new year most of the world tries to develop a New Year’s Resolution into their life. This is the idea of committing yourself to a habit change in your life.
This is great in most aspects for people but majority of the world tends to fail when the momentum dies down after a while. Therefore, this year I encourage everyone to try to focus on long term goals and having a life changing vision that overall improves your lifestyle.
Setting Goals
Setting Goals is an important task to incorporate in your lifestyle for it’s a way to focus your energy and motivation towards an end result. A Goal is a visual thought provoking you to succeed. In order to be successful in anything in life you must plan out what you want to achieve first.
“The purpose toward which an endeavor is directed; an objective.” – Definition
Start planning out your goals, what do you want to accomplish whether it be tangible or intangible. The idea of setting a goal is so we can start developing a strategy in achieving success with a blue print to go off of instead of just winging life.
Create your Vision
Once you establish your goals, you then must visualize yourself achieving those goals. The oldest proverb quote in history still holds true to this day…
“As a man thinketh, so is he” – Proverb 23:7
If you believe in something so much where you can make a thought into reality. Napolean Hill also has quoted in saying ..
“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve” – Napolean Hill
Start incorporating your Goals in your Vision, believe that you can achieve it and practice implementing it on a daily basis. The multi-million dollar book “The Secret” has taught us that we must be in this mode to accept law of attraction. The law of attraction simply states whatever you want to attract you must exuberate from yourself and want it to happen.
Develop a Vision Board
Once you establish your Goals and Vision, you now must implement them together on a tangible visual reminder. This is where creating your Vision Board comes into play.
The idea of having a Vision Board is to look at all your goals on a daily basis which will then help you Visualize and practice achieving those goals in your mind.
If you need to learn how to make a Vision Board, About.com has an excellent tutorial here you can read.
Again having a New Year’s Resolution is a great thing to do but for me I want to focus on concrete achievement and life changing goals. I encourage anyone to look at this alternative option in developing a Vision Board for this New Year and let’s make this new decade a Positive and Successful one!

Thank you for this interesting concept – creating goals instead of just resolutions, to make them more realistic and give them longevity.
I agree that we have to visualize success in order to properly accomplish these goals. We have to listen to our own instincts and believe in our own capabilities and strengths to see them through. We are, after all, in control of our own thoughts and actions.
