Smiling is such a powerful tool that we can control to powerfully affect outcomes in our life that we mainly neglect to utilize on a daily basis. A smile is contagious and who wouldn’t want to be around people who smile more often.

1. Being Happy and Positive by Smiling More

A smile can increase your positive influence and positive thinking for the rest of your day. Our thoughts become reality so try to stay away from negativity in which can cause us grief or pain. Whenever you may feel down, try smiling and there is a good chance that it will put you in a better mind frame for the rest of your day. Smiling Releases Endorphins, Natural Pain Killers and Serotonin that are happy chemicals that compliments your mental attitude with physical reasons why you should smile more.

2. You Can Be Successful by Smiling More

Let’s face it, smiling is attractive. In business and in life we tend to be attracted to those that we like and what better impression to leave on people when you are constantly smiling. Smiling is also a confidence booster where the weight of negativity is not bringing you down and being more confident can make you more successful.

3. Being Healthy by Smiling More

Smiling is also known to be a big stress reliever. We tend to stress us out when we dwell on things that worry us and by smiling the thought process would follow of not worrying about things and just being happy. Your blood pressure goes down and because you are relaxed more your immune system works better.

4. Attracting Positivity by Smiling More

People tend to approach you and want to be around you more often when you smile. Smiling is contagious and chances are that your life will be better with more positive people in your life than having negative people feed off your negative energy. The same applies when you become negative or show frustration on your face, people tend to flock together when misery is in company. Misery may love company but so does Positivity.

Keeping Cool Under Pressure

One of the biggest mistakes we can do is act on emotion or react without thinking. This can affect us both personally and in business.

Having a clear mind when making decisions is more productive and positive than reacting with emotion due to stress or other sensitive factors. We all had those moments where we feel guilty or regretful AFTER our impulsive decisions.

So how do we deal with stress and preventing actions based on emotion? There any many stress relievers out there that range from stress balls to massages but I want to focus on the root of these techniques and that is the Breathing and Clear Mind element.

I was reading a book by Russell Simmons called “Do You” and Russell talks about his various breathing techniques and Yoga classes.

Breathing Techniques

First we must learn to be at one with our Breathing. Breathing is the most natural form and is something we tend to forget that we do on a daily basis.

Whenever we act upon emotion or become stresses our heart rate rises and because we are not getting enough oxygen at that moment we become uncontrollable and stressed.

You know that saying take a few breaths through a paper bag and just breathe in and out?

We have to learn to just Breathe when under pressure and not let our emotions take control of us. When presented with a stressful situation remove yourself from the picture and just focus on breathing techniques. The simplest form is counting to 10 and breathing in rhythm with your count. You will be amazed how much your heart race will slow down and be able to think more clearly when making your next decision.

Yoga

The next form in breathing is like in the act of Yoga. Before you begin your day or even when you are about to go to bed, try removing yourself from all distractions and find a nice and quiet spot to practice your breathing technique and even try meditating. This habit will surely put you in a better mind set to start your day right or even end your day on a positive and zen fashion.

The Boy’s Book of Positive Quotations

I love inspirational motivation books and came across this unique book specifically targets to boys that include inspirational quotations from the real-life heroes boys know and respect—including rock stars, skateboarders, BMX’rs, Hollywood celebrities, tech gurus and more.

I think this would be a great gift idea to boys growing up to get inspired early with positive role model quotes. It’s kind of funny that I focus more on powerful quotes as an adult and rarely as a kid.

Some examples of the chapters the boys will read:

* How to be brave

* Realistic expectations

* Overcoming negativty

How powerful is that? learning at a young age about overcoming negativity and setting realistic expectations. These are some examples the boys will read and I wish I had a book like this when I was growing up.

The cool thing about the Social Context is that it focuses the chapters on a video game that that most boys can relate to. Also because this is a part graphic novel, the boys will love the artwork from manga artist Queenie Chan.

Consider this book as a great gift idea for next birthdays, holidays etc.

When I was in High school, at every prep rally right before a big football game, our whole school would recite a motivation creed to get the whole school pumped up.

The creed went something like this:

I am Somebody

I will strive

I will persevere

and I will win

because I am somebody

Now the whole entire school and staff would get up from their seats, chant these lines from the top of their lungs and transform themselves into a hype machine filled with energy. It was an amazing spectacle at my school because if you were rebelling and didn’t wish to stand you were easily spotted and casted out. I would have to say that not many if any were left sitting down not joining in the big chant.

Self Preparation

Now we all know about pep talks and self mood lifts that will help you prepare for the rest of the day, mainly known from the great mentor Tony Robbins.

Self preparation is nothing new and is often overlooked in incorporating into your daily routine or right before a big major event. The reason for a creed or a pep talk is to get you mentally prepared for the challenges that awaits for you for the rest of the day. You never want to do anything without being first prepared for something. Just like you would never take a test without studying first the same should be looked at when going into a big event or even on a daily basis to overcome daily challenges.

Once you coach yourself to success then you will manifest success from your thoughts to reality. Get into the habit of practicing this often. If you believe then you will achieve. Start believing.

Champions Creed

One of the greatest creeds out there is a from a three-time Olympian named Ruben Gonzalez. He developed a Champion Creed used by many athletes, survivors (abuse, cancer etc), students and many more that uses the creed as a crutch into manifesting their hopes and dreams into reality.

Develop your own Champion Creed that is more tailored to your niche and start incorporating it into your schedule.

Below is the Famous Champions Creed:

I am a champion.

I believe in myself.

I have the will to win.

I set high goals for myself.

I surround myself with winners.

I’m cool, positive, and confident.

I’m willing to pay the price of success.

I stay relaxed and in control at all times.

I focus all my energy on the job at hand.

I take responsibility for all of my results.

I have the courage to endure and persist.

I vividly imagine what victory will feel like.

I am a champion and I will win.

New Year Resolutions

Here we are in the dawning of a new decade, 2009 is gone and we welcome 2010. Every new year most of the world tries to develop a New Year’s Resolution into their life. This is the idea of committing yourself to a habit change in your life.

This is great in most aspects for people but majority of the world tends to fail when the momentum dies down after a while. Therefore, this year I encourage everyone to try to focus on long term goals and having a life changing vision that overall improves your lifestyle.

Setting Goals

Setting Goals is an important task to incorporate in your lifestyle for it’s a way to focus your energy and motivation towards an end result. A Goal is a visual thought provoking you to succeed. In order to be successful in anything in life you must plan out what you want to achieve first.

“The purpose toward which an endeavor is directed; an objective.” – Definition

Start planning out your goals, what do you want to accomplish whether it be tangible or intangible. The idea of setting a goal is so we can start developing a strategy in achieving success with a blue print to go off of instead of just winging life.

Create your Vision

Once you establish your goals, you then must visualize yourself achieving those goals. The oldest proverb quote in history still holds true to this day…

“As a man thinketh, so is he” – Proverb 23:7

If you believe in something so much where you can make a thought into reality. Napolean Hill also has quoted in saying ..

“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve” – Napolean Hill

Start incorporating your Goals in your Vision, believe that you can achieve it and practice implementing it on a daily basis. The multi-million dollar book “The Secret” has taught us that we must be in this mode to accept law of attraction. The law of attraction simply states whatever you want to attract you must exuberate from yourself and want it to happen.

Develop a Vision Board

Once you establish your Goals and Vision, you now must implement them together on a tangible visual reminder. This is where creating your Vision Board comes into play.

The idea of having a Vision Board is to look at all your goals on a daily basis which will then help you Visualize and practice achieving those goals in your mind.

If you need to learn how to make a Vision Board, About.com has an excellent tutorial here you can read.

Again having a New Year’s Resolution is a great thing to do but for me I want to focus on concrete achievement and life changing goals. I encourage anyone to look at this alternative option in developing a Vision Board for this New Year and let’s make this new decade a Positive and Successful one!
